This time, it’s the black version: The Chinese Zodiac!Using a similar lightweight build, this new release looks – dare I say – even better! The exterior designs consist of simple white/red embroideries and woven labels, the latter of which are not tucked under any seams so they may be easily removed. On the interior, you’ve got full-color artwork by Meerkatsu, showcasing his illustration of each of the 12 signs spanning across the fully sublimated shoulder panel. Not only is the artwork crisp, but the fabric is soft and stretchy, adding a layer of comfort and moisture control to an already excellent lightweight kimono.Fabrics include 93 Brand’s superlight Micro Pearl Weave (350 GSM) which is very light but also very tightly knit, preventing unwanted stretching. Pants and collar are made from an equally light 10 oz ripstop blend, with unique mesh knee reinforcements (a nice touch). The collar itself is wider and thicker than the typical BJJ collar, utilizing additional rows of stitching to accommodate the beefier size. Rather than full-blown contrast stitching, only select areas feature red contrast, making the accents more subtle and the overall look much cleaner.Not only do you choose your Chinese Zodiac sign for custom sewing application, but you receive an additional slightly smaller patch, unsewn (the Dragon Zodiac style).
